Community
Manager
The
end of March brought us new talent to Estrella with the
addition of our new Community Manager Patty Garman. Patty
brings to Estrella 25 years of Community Management experience.
Patty has transferred here from Draper, Utah where she
managed the SunCrest community. Being desert rat of 11
years she was happy to return to Arizona and take on a
Master Planned Community. Now Patty is back in sunny Arizona
and has thawed from the 115° of snow Draper had last
winter, eager for the challenge to be a part of the growth
is all around us here in Estrella. Please stop by Community
Services Office and introduce yourself Patty and welcome
her to our community.

Winning
Season for Westar Comets
The
Westar Elementary Softball field was alive with excitement
as the Comets won
their second consecutive Desert Valley League championship
with a 10–0 perfect winning season. The team of twelve
7th–8th grade girlsalong with their team manager,
7th grader Louisa Espinoza, and team coaches, 5th grade
teacher Cory Flagg and 3rd Grade teacherAmy McCubbins,
trained and played hard together since returning from spring
break in March. “We are very excited about this!” said
McCubbins. “It’s great to be able to say two
years in a row our girls have been able to work and play
as a team, winning our second championship.” Part
of their winning strategy involved the talent and skills
of 8th grade pitcher Kasia Smith who is known for her 60
mph pitch. The team played against all schools in the District.
The Championship was then played against Buckeye Elementary.
Final score was 10–0.
